Oddly enough Connery just died.
He was a great actor.
Even with all the great Bond movies he starred in the scene I remember most is from one of the Indiana Jones movies - do you remember the scene where he is running down the beach chasing the birds into the air with his umbrella to bring down the plane? And then I believe he throws out a quote from Charlemagne. Classic!!!
So many good films, but he'll always be Henry Jones to me too!
In case anyone was wondering.

Daniel Craig.
Thanks for listing every James Bond movies. I saw all of them since I'm a fan of James Bond movies.
.
Yes, Henry Jones (Sean Connery)chased the birds to bring down a bad guy's airplane was genius. He shouted "Charlemagne" which was nostalgic. It was an unforgettable scene which we don't see in today's cinema. He was a great actor & admired by millions around the world. I wonder has he ever collect stamps since there are stamps issued in his honor ?
I don't collect James Bond stamps, but I met a James Bond girl "Jane Seymour".
Roger Moore & Jane Seymour staring in a 1973 James Bond movie "Live and Let Die".
Above- Jane Seymour & Roger Moore (1973)
Below- Jane Seymoue & me (2010)
"...He was a great actor & admired by millions around the world..."
"“I don’t think there is anything particularly wrong in hitting a woman, though I don’t recommend you do it the same way that you hit a man,” Connery said in a 1965 interview with Playboy magazine. “An open-handed slap is justified, if all other alternatives fail and there has been plenty of warning. If a woman is a b*tch, or hysterical, or bloody-minded continually, then I’d do it.”"
He beat his wife? Oh dear, I wonder if every James Bond actors beat their wife too?
This got me thinking hard
I dont think Roger Moore would slap his woman around. He just seems like such a nice guy. No disrespect to Mr. Connery but Roger was always my favorite.
rumour has it that Roger Moore was actually the "slappee" rather than the "slapper".... he claims to have been physically abused by multiple wives over the years.
And another Icon's image is tarnished.
Oh, the humanity !
I love Roger Moore too, but he also passed away
I'm surprised no one collect James Bond stamps here.
Beautiful Roger Moore stamps.
Roger Moore has a humor in every Bond's movies.
He also appeared in some of the Cannonball Run movies where he played a playboy pretending to be a secret agent with humour and panache.
The TV series "The Persuaders" with Tony Curtis was popular at the time.
I always felt that no matter whom he portayed Roger Moore played Roger Moore.

I remember the series Ivanhoe starring Roger Moore as the lead character in the late 1950's and also he was one of the Mavericks (Beau?) in the same time period or slightly later. The Saint was always one of my favorites but I always thought he was too smooth as James Bond - it didn't quite work! I don't remember ever seeing The Persuaders (with Tony Curtis) on TV even though I saw the series on DVD. He even played Sherlock Holmes at one time, but I'm afraid Holmes will always either be Basil Rathbone or Jeremy Brett!
Roy Hudd as Sherlock Holmes is my favourite.
OK he plays it for laughs. He did a series of 6 and here's the first.

"And another Icon's image is tarnished"
I love all James Bond movies, but my favorite is 1977 "The Spy Who Loved Me" by Roger Moore & Barbara Bach. I think there are some stamp collectors that specialized in James Bond stamps. I'm wondering does anyone here at Stamproma collect James Bond stamps ?
