As it clearly says "Revenue" on top, it is not a postage stamp, and the manuscript cancel suggests fiscal use, too. Unlikely to be found in a postage stamps catalog, but someone mentioned an old revenues catalog in which it may be listed. Most likely from the 1890s, it looks similar to the postage stamps of that era.
The Barefoot catalogue lists two stamps like this:
- #33 from 1889 with watermark Crown CA
- #41 from 1911 with watermark Multiple Crown CA
My old catalogue has them both with the multiple crown CA watermark but it's clear from the context what was intended.
In any case, this stamp was clearly cancelled in 1891 so it must be #33.
