Any person collecting early US really has to develop some patience and several skills - perfs, watermarks, types of paper, color shades, etc. My patience is not great so sometimes I ask my long-time stamp dealer for a bit of help. Occasionally I send him a few stamps to identify and his rates are very fair. But if you don't have that option you had better develop some major stamp skills!
I believe I have narrowed it down to a type II meaning it is either Sc. 454 or Sc. 491.
Hi! Seems perforated 8 & 1/2 to me. Therefore can only be #413. Chris ccndd
413 gets my vote- in case anybody was asking
