Hey! Is the ribbing on #600 wavy lines; larger waves going toward the right?

"The stamp was not printed on ribbed paper"

Sorry to correct you, but yes it was. Unitrade Catalogue #600i

Picture to follow, if I can get a camera to show it (a scanner will probably not pick it up because it is most visible when viewed at an angle).

re: Canda #600. ribbed?

actually it's an FDC. had it listed as #600. was getting ready to relist it and just happened to see the lines. Have in mind to cut the cover and soak for a #600i.Image Not Found. just came from eye exam Monday. The Doc says I have cataracts and will probably need surgery in a couple of years. Anyway, back to the stamp/ cover. As you can see scan doesn't show lines.
BTW: Roy, did you get your coin?

It took some fancy work with the camera and a flashlight at just the right angle, but I think I got it.

You should be able to see the shadows as a result of the "ribbing" in the paper.

re: Canda #600. ribbed?

totally different than what I see. could the wavy lines be tagging? Then again , FDC indicates #600 as untagged.Confused
I have tried all kinds of ways with computer camera to get a pic of the wavy lines, can't get anything to show up. It's like those hologram stamps.
to be continued.
BTW: what does it mean about format tags can't be nested?

re: Canda #600. ribbed?

"could the wavy lines be tagging?"

WHAT wavy lines?

#600 (the original issue of this stamp, even though its replacement was numbered by Scott as #599) was never tagged.

The stamp was redrawn and reissued and given the number 599. That one is tagged with two vertical green bars (under ultraviolet) at either edge.

"what does it mean about format tags can't be nested?"

"It" (meaning the error message you get on this discussion board if you try to do it) means that you can't use two (or more) format tags inside one another ("nesting" them). For example you can't try to use the italics tag and then try to underline the the word too. Or try to do any formatting inside a quote tag.
