I was going to list some Topicals in Lots of 25 or 50 stamps (dogs, airplanes, ships, etc.), but when I bring up Topicals I note 1002 entries - mostly of single stamps, and not what I would call a Topical at all. What am I missing here? Thank you.

What you are seeing is members who stick anything at all into topicals as their second category, hoping somebody will recognize a topic in it.
A totally inconsiderate practice for those truly interested in topicals, effectively trashing the usefulness of the category.
