re: Zip code

that is correct; note that ZIP is always capitalized: Zone Improvement Plan.

there are important dates that help us ID things, and ZIP is one of them.

I once ID'd a stuffed animal as an imposter because the dog's tag had a ZIP code on it, and the child who longed for its return would have already discarded the thing by that year. Inspector Clue-Sew.

Always get a kick out of antique stores and flea market vendors who will have something marked “genuine from 1957” and it’s got a zip code on it! Worse yet a bar code!
