Tony, I think if you go to approvals, sellers, set-up terms you can set the terms for various stages of books, current or new.
As I read the instructions any changes made apply to all auction items or only new items not to approval books. I only wanted to change the shipping cost on one approval book because of the nature of the items listed.
If you change the terms and have it applied to new books, post the new book then revise terms again, it will only apply to that one book.
Tony, in the Approvals Tab, go to Sellers and select SET UP TERMS.
In the first box, enter your shipping terms for the approval book in question.
Then in the next line, in the drop down box on the right side, select UPDATE ONLY SAME. That will keep your older shipping terms intact for the previous items you have listed, and for your future ones.
I tried that and yes it updated the shipping terms for that approval book but is also changed the shipping terms for all of the other approval books I had open. Now what?
Borrowing from Mr. Sinatra, I'd do it my way.
"UPDATE ONLY SAME"
Here is the description for "Update Only same":
"If you selected "Update Only Same", your change in Shipping Terms will be applied to only the currently open Auction Lots that were using the Shipping Terms that you just updated. This will work well if you have a Lot with a specific Shipping Term, different to all the rest."
Michael, I read that as saying/meaning that it will update to the new terms everything that had the old terms.
I only wanted to update one approval book because of the size of the mailing envelopes.
Had I known that it would update all open books I would not have done it. Too late now.
If the book has not sold anything, deactivate it. Change the terms back so all old books have the original terms. Then do what I suggested for the new book, activate it, then change terms for any new books.
Tried that deactivated the one book changed the shipping terms back to original. Changed the shipping terms for new book and reactivated the book. However every "New" book also changed. I am just going to leave it alone. This has created problems combining items in the invoicing system. Just have to wait until all books are closed for it to correct itself.
I asked Tim to get in touch with you to fix the mess that I seemed to have created for you.
Is there a way to set the shipping cost for an individual approval book like there is for an individual auction item?
