I find the stamps from the 1940s of the Dutch Indies under Japanese occupation and then the 1945-49 Indonesia revolutionary issues interesting..as others here also do. I paired these two up today..the stamp on the left Netherlands Indies N10 (under Japanese occupation 1943) the one next to it is Indonesia (revolutionary period ) IL15, from 1945.Image Not Found

re: Regime change 1943-1945

Hi Philb
Do you collect the stamps of Indonesia? my collection starts with the first stamps of the Netherlands Indies and stops with Indonesian Independence in 1950 .
I have lots of 1948/49 spares for swaps.I don't need many of that time my self just a few odd stamps and a couple of the Blockade S/S.which are rather expensive.
I find it a very interesting country to collect .And sorting out the Indonesian overprints on their first issues can bbe a real pain
I bought a 2005 copy of Katalog Prangko Indonesia 2005 it is in Indonesian but is very well illustrated and google translate is very helpful
