It looks like a red manuscript cancel with an old fashioned pen.
I was thinking the same thing, but have never seen anything quite like this. The ink bled through to the other side. I appreciate your input.
This red marking/overprint partially bleeds through to the other side. Please help me with this one! Thanks.
