There are 443 US stamps with 'flag' in the description, this includes all regular issue stamps with a catalog number 1947-2019 in the Stamp Smarter database.

Anyone can search by any keyword across US using the above to ID them.
Don
Hi Don,
Thanks a lot, that is very helpful!
Checking it out now!

Collecting USA Flag Stamps is both fun and a challenge. It's the last of my Stamp collections that are still 'alive' and is waiting for my attention for when I no longer need to work.
Here is one from my collection, the "Red 29" Mount Rushmore, an oddity not listed in the Scott Catalogue.

When searching on stampsmarter.com as Don suggests be sure to also search synonyms of your main topic. For example, if you search on “banner” you will find #4870 (the Star-Spangled Banner stamp) which does not appear on the “flag” search.
I have a grandson who loves trains so I searched on “train” and “locomotive.” But it took a search on “engine” to find the Railroad Engineers stamp (which shows two trains).
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
The search in Stamp Smarter does indeed find #4870 when you search on 'flag' (as shown below). The search uses a 'contains' query so it will find the keyword anywhere in the description string. It may be that you did not see it because there are so many returns. The search only shows 10 stamps per page (note the page buttons in the maroon colored header and footers), users can also click on any of the column headings and it will sort on that column (in image below I have it sorted on catalog number).
Don
Thanks for correcting me Don; it’s clear I don’t understand stampsmarter’s full functionality. Although I’m still confused because your screen capture shows the search was for “star” not “flag.”
Dennis
Well doh on my part, that's what I get for posting while I am at dialysis, you are correct. As can be seen by the screen capture, the key word 'flag' does not occur in the description field for #4870. Sorry for the lack of my mental acuity.
Don
As for the image, it is clear one color is not completely present. Given it is used, it may not be as issued.
Did someone say 'may not be as issued' ? At least the Flags didn't disappear !!
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a "ready made" US Flag Stamp Album out there that one can print (like a PDF file)?
Either for free or for purchase.
Thank you!
JR
Hi all,
Okay, I just started to pay attention to the flag stamps, as I have been sorting other stamps.
All I can say is, WOW!
There are a lot of US Flag stamps, just in my "spares" box alone!
This could be a new collecting category for me.
JR
It's a great category !!
If you have gaps to fill when you're sorted, send me a list and I'll send you what I have for Free.
Don't forget you'll need to do some flyspecking for all those varieties......great fun !

Then there's also fun looking at tagging varieties, and tagging shifts, like this one on an otherwise hum-drum stamp...
Thank guys!
Oooooh Tagging adds some coolness for sure!
I really only have about 8 flag stamps, so I posted a "wanted" ad in the appropriate section of our board.
Thanks again!
JR
I love US Flag stamps.
My favourite is Flag Act of 1818
Hi ThePostageStamps,
That is a good one!
I don't think I have that one yet!
JR
Hi all,
It has come to my attention that one might topically collect US Flag Stamps.
I know... I'm a bit of a newbie to collecting (probably always will be!).
Does anyone know how many US Flag stamps that there are and how far they go back (date)?
Also is there a definitive "resource" that talks about collecting them?
Thank you!
JR
