Stamporama has been trying to make buying and selling activities more of a responsibility between members. With the continuing increase of items listed for sale, it has become a daunting task to monitor for the few who perform this task. To that end, Stamporama is making a change regarding how the sales platforms are monitored. Oversight will continue, but in mostly a re-active manner.
Members using the sales platforms are expected to know and understand the rules governing their use regardless of whether a member is a buyer and/or a seller. Members are expected to conduct themselves according to the rules. Participation in the sales platforms is an acknowledgement of that expectation. Members must communicate with each other, and work out problems that may arise between them. If members are unable to resolve an issue, then the Auctioneer may be contacted for assistance.
The Auctioneers will monitor the sales platforms primarily for fraudulent activity (counterfeits, forgeries), and for listing mistakes (wrong number, category, excessive pricing, etc.). Members observing fraudulent activity or other problems should notify an Auctioneer promptly.
Note that the $$$ High Value Approval Books will continue to be pro-actively monitored to ensure that they are compliant with the rules. These are special books with special requirements.
Items offered for sale in the sales platforms that are not compliant with the rules may be summarily closed by an Auctioneer. The seller will be notified of the non-compliance, and the reason for the closure, but an itemized list of all items found non-compliant will not be provided. It is the member's responsibility to resolve the non-compliance, and not to offer the same item(s) for sale until the problem is fixed.
Non-compliance discovered by an Auctioneer, or disputes that are confirmed may result in the member being suspended from the sales platforms or expelled from Stamporama for false certification and violation of the trust that Stamporama and the membership has placed in them. Repeated non-compliance will not be tolerated.
It is hoped that this information will help members better understand how oversight of the sales platforms is conducted in order to try to maintain higher standards than is often found on other selling sites.
