Just came across this in one of the envelopes from the original "The Hoard" pile I bought 4-5 years ago.

They are actually silver, but unfortunately the scans all show up as black.

Who would likely be interested in something like this? A stamp Collector or a Coin Collector (or maybe just an Olympics fan who collects lots of different mementos)?

Would this be a proof of the stamp or a souvenir keepsake? Interesting I have an exhibit on the history of the Olympics but never came across a gem like this ..

It is a manufactured Canada Post keepsake. They were also available in bronze. Several (if not all) the 1976 Olympic stamps were included in the promotion, although I do not recall having seen the $1 and $2 "Olympic Buildings" in this form.

Postal clerk to Customer "This letter will require $2 in postage".
Customer "No problem, I have a $2 stamp with me"
Postal clerk "Sorry sir, the postage just went up $1.75. Your stamp is to heavy"Laughing
