Thanks Don - why couldn't they say that in the book? It's obvious when you point it out! That's why it's great to have people like you around. I actually have a couple with the different font but I just couldn't see it.
Scott does show pictures of each overprint. However, there is room in the area where th eimage description is (to the left of each stamp) where they could add, "san serif", and "serif".
Whoever is keeping track of these things for me, will you please add this to my list of things to do when I buy Scott? Thank you.
Will do!
Okay, let's see.....
"Michael - Scott catalog;
"Update #173 -- US Revenues stock transfer issues: ADD 'SERIF' and 'SAN SERIF'"
Got it.
I feel really dumb not noticing the font difference. I think that happened before, but it would be nice if Scott's noted the font difference rather than just showing a picture. It sort of reminds me of the Canal Zone stamps that only differ in an "A" with a flat or pointed top. Imagine how hard it would be to spot if they just a picture of the entire stamp. Thanks for the help everyone, I can now enter the stamps properly!
I just noticed when I put RD33 in my book that I had a mark next to RD35&36, the mark meaning that they were on order from SoR. Just for the heck of it I went into my "Won Lots" to check and they are not 35 and 36, they are RD6 and RD9, which I have. I'm not going to say anything since they were very cheap, it's just a relief to know that I'm not the only person who is (was) confused.
Harvey,
When it comes to Scott, we all get confused once in a while.
Harvey, don't worry. It will get fixed when I buy Scott.
Can anyone explain the difference between these two stamps? Is it the difference in separation between the two lines of the overprint? Scott's US Specialized is very hard to figure out, so I need the help of an expert ... please! I just got a bunch of STOCK TRANSFER stamps and am not sure how to differentiate between these two series. It might be simple but I can't see it!
