Hi Horamakhet
They are very nice blocks, I wish you luck finding the thin paper Hereford Bull, Andy and I came to the conclusion that it may not exist, he hasn't seen one in 40 years, and I haven't seen one in about the same time.
But discoveries happen, you experienced a major discovery in the KGV side-face 1d red; and if a discovery does occur with the Hereford Bull. I wouldn't put it past you that you will find a few.
If you do, I will definitely buy one from you.
Rob
Hi Rob
I am buying every block of Hereford bulls that I see, so the law of averages say that I am going to find one sooner or later.
Did I mention that the SG 418, with the partial missing colour, that Hugh Jefferies at SG says he has never seen another one, and he is still researching it, possibly could be the only copy found so far.
Who knows it may get listed in the next SG Australia catalogue.
Regards
Horamakhet
Hi Horamakhet
Talk about determination about locating a thin paper Hereford Bull. I do not recall you mentioning about a stamp with partial missing colour which is listed as SG 418 (unless I forgot). Do you have it, if it is the only copy, it may be quite rare.
Rob
Hi Rob
Here it is, it is the one on the right, it is quite spectacular.
It was from the large collection that I purchased that belonged to someone's uncle.
The radio waves on the right hand side of the stamp are completely missing, and the left hand side are three quarters missing.
SG lists 418a and 418b, but this one with the partial white missing has never ever been recorded. It is MNH.
I have searched through dozens or used copies as well, and have not been able to find another.
Hugh Jefferies at SG has never seen or heard of another copy. They will possibly list it.
Several dealers I showed it too, have never seen or heard of it either.
Some wanted to buy it for next to nothing.
Regards
Horamakhet
Hi Horamakhet
That is a very scarce stamp; the actual Australian market value in MUH is between $1,000 and $1,200. Where did you get that stamp?
Rob
Hi Rob
Remember last year when I bought a collection from a guy whose uncle had had a life long passion in stamps.
He sold me hundreds of Hawid mounts, some with used stamps, some with MNH
there are a lot of George V & George VI and quite a few QEII pre-decimal and decimals MNH.
It was quite by accident that I noticed it.
The two stamps were side by side and I kept thinking something is wrong with one of the stamps and then it dawned on me that one had missing colours.
I still have not checked all the stamps yet. It is going to take a long time.
I have been devoting too much time to the George V stamps.
Regards
Horamakhet.
I remember, nice catch.
Rob
Hi to all
Here are some of the new recent purchases that I purchased
They are all imprint blocks.
I purchased 24 blocks at a cost of 50 cents a block, so I am very pleased with that.
I just love imprint blocks.
And Rob, in my quest to find a block of thin paper, it included the one and three pence Hereford, I also could not resist the birds on different papers.
Regards
Horamakhet.
