Use Pure Citrus air freshener and spray on the front of the stamp. Wait a little longer than you usually do for it to soak through. Then with a little bit of fighting you should be able to work the stamp free. I have done it many times. Chris
Another possibility is splitting the postcard paper, in particular if the stamps are on cut-outs from picture postcards, so that you get rid of the glossy, hardly permeable layers. Then your solvent can soak through the remaining paper. This also helps when soaking stamps with water-soluble gum.

Taking stamps off of a postcard is much like taking stamps off of a cover; you go from stamps that help tell a story (how that postcard got from there to here) (and vice versa) to loosies.

Thank you ccndd and jmh67. Both of your suggestions worked fine.
IkeyPikey, sure thing if the postcard is still whole. But if you've just been given a cut corner (which happens more often than not), there is not much sense in keeping a stamp with a partial cancel on paper.

You're right, Martin.
Perhaps if I had bought more kiloware, I would have run across postcard cut corners ...

I split the card like jmh67 suggested above. Still it does not always work. My solution is to buy kiloware lots which do not contain this type of challenging material.
Applying a small amount of BESTINE to the back of a normal paper envelope piece upon which the self-adhesive stamp resides works great because it soaks thru the paper and loosens the adhesive just enough to remove with tongs. However, when the stamp is affixed to post cards and similar thicker than paper material, BESTINE does not soak thru to loosen the adhesive. Has anyone run across this problem and are there any suggestions?
