Hello
Not having a SG catalog or information about stamps in the GB, they are not a priority for me.
With the information provided by Roy I tried to identify my only Penny Red stamp.

White paper.perforation 14, watermark 20.re-engraved? (Not sure) lead me to the conclusion that it is Sc # 20.
The color is unknown to me:

and also the catalog number SG (37,38,38,40,41 or 42)?
Thank you for help.

Based upon recent info. provided to me by Roy, I would call it Scott #3, 1841, CV $9.00.

I very much doubt that this is Scott #3, more likely #33.
Value? from next to nothing to about 500,000.
Here are some copies of both stamps in my collection.

I agree StampCollector and Gerom. I think I'll leave these Penny Reds alone for a while. Sorry.

Stampcollector:

Your #3's are all correct, but none of the stamps you have labelled #33 are #33.

See the "Penny Red" tutorial in this post:
https://stamporama.com/discboard/disc_main.php?action=20&id=24365#173030

They are all "stars in the corners".

I was too hasty to match the original image, these are images of the correct #33.

Hello
Was my question a little forgotten?
My stamp is Sc # 20?
And if so, what number SG? (SG # 37 .... 42)?
Thank you for help.

Yes, your stamp is Scott #20.

I believe that the reason nobody has answered your question about the SG catalogue number is that colour differences cannot be established via a computer monitor. There are too many variables, many of which have been discussed on this board many times, notably with excellent posts from 51Studebaker.

For example, your montage of the two images of the stamp overlayed on the colour chips. The colour of the stamp is different in each of the images, and noticeably different from the first, enlarged image.

For the time being, assume that it is the commonest of the the varieties, which would be the rose-red shade of 1857, SG #40, until you have seen or built a reference collection of dated copies.
