Italian Military Cinderellas for the 56th, 58th, and 94th Infantry.

As they came on small postcards, I scanned each card, and each one is a little different.

Only the 58th came with a coat-of-arms logo on the address side of the card.

Only the 94th came with a rubber stamping in the stamp box.

Q/ Does anyone know anything about these? Their purpose, perhaps?

Q/ Are these three part of a larger series?

Q/ Does anyone collect them?

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

re: Italian Military Cinderellas

Gorgeous !!

The bottom two are Delandre labels and maybe the top one is too but for the moment I cannot find it.
All issued between 1914-1917 after which Mr.Fontanille was incarcerated in Prison for cheating the Red Cross out of funds for selling labels he produced. Not nice.
A wonderful area of Cinderella collecting and my latest project which has seen me muster a mere 200 or so from a total of over 4,000 !!!
But there is time........(He says, hopefully)

Thanks for showing ikeyPikey !!! Wonderful.
Here's another Italian.

Sadly not Phil. Mr.Fontanille only produced labels for France, Great Britain, Belgium, Serbia, Montenegro, Russia and Italy.

REGIO ESERCITO = 'ROYAL ARMY'

Victor Emmanuel III; king of Italy from
1900 to 1946, when he abdicated.

That's all I know about it.

initially, it was a private venture with the idea of selling labels to the various units he honored; when the govt objected, he sold to the public.

he was hired by the French Red Cross, and, had he actually shared in the proceeds, that would have been a good thing......
