35c imperf from the first series specifically designed for Dahomey. There were 7 stamps of the series which were produced imperf but I do not know if the others have it.
Any info would be appreciated.

A printing sample perhaps? Compared to the few pictures of other stamps from this series, the printing looks rather coarse, what with the wobbly and uneven frame, and the weak ornaments in the corners.

thanks ! Yes, I have also found an auction at Kelleher of a French "test stamp" block of 9. A little more modern but same pattern on the back. Sadly, the quality of the front doesn't change much with the actual issues of my palm climbers ! LOL ... but think we are on the right track. Thanks for the reply.

Can anyone help with what or why this is. Obviously too dark for a bold watermark but for sure under the gum.
