Have just spent the best part of a week finding, sorting and soaking my accumulation of New Zealand stamps. Printed off the Steiner pages to 1993 and working backwards mounted the collection. Quite a number of blank spaces but something on almost every page.
Great fun trying to determine the watermarks on earlier issues and the worst being the coat of arms fiscal issues, some of which I could not see a trace of watermark.
The Penny post issues gave a problem until I found a neat website with a guide to the various printings. https://sites.google.com/site/stamps4you2/home
I worked from Gibbons as well as Scott as they sort of compliment each other with descriptions, SG having a great design index at the end of the country.
Now have the Health stamps to sort and mount and hopefully they will be the easiest section.
Nothing valuable but nice to get them sorted at last, they have been around for 20 years or more, guess it might be Australia next but that needs more cardstock and a new print cartridge, although I reckon I ought to clear the table first.
I will also be going to our sales platforms to try and fill a few of the gaps.

The Health issues are quite interesting with all the engraved stamps of the young Royal family members.

Atta boy for all of your hard work! Did you find any of those advertisements on the backs of that one early series?

Doesn’t it feel nice to take a jumbled mish mash mess and turn it into a well organized collection? Not only does it look nicer, you’ve increased the value. SweetThumbs Up!

re: Sorting my NZ stamps

Hi Theresa, no not found any adverts but yes it is a good feeling to have finally got them sorted.
Al, the earlier health stamps are much nicer than the latter day ones, but that goes for most stamps these days unless they are engraved.
