re: Canada postal wrapper Is this real?

OK... I thought it might be...it looks blue on my computer and on other covers on ebay the green is green ...Not sure what is going on. I messaged the seller and asked what colour the stamp is but no answer. He has it listed as a 16b not 17b ...my mistake which is not listed in either of my references ....

The wrapper is actually identified as W16b on the back in pencil. That appears to be the correct Webb Stationery Catalog identification. Here is the enlarged picture grabbed from the ebay listing.

It is way overpriced. It is PB21a in Unitrade, catalogued at C$6 used.

The UNITRADE 2020 did not list annymore the Stationary... (see page 681)
they refer the collectors to/or buy the WEBB'S stationary catalogue...

I agree that the Ebay price for this lot is way to hy to be of interest

(sorry for my limited english)

re: Canada postal wrapper Is this real?

Ah, Aztec Collectibles is the seller. I've bought a couple of very expensive covers from him. The only thing wrong with his offerings is that they are all way overpriced, but, then, I parted with my money without regrets because the covers were rare in my experience, and perfectly suited two or three of my topical collections. But this wrapper? It's probably something that often ends up in dollar boxes at stamp shows. I've noticed that Aztec offers many of the hundreds or even thousands of philatelic covers that were generated by a Canadian Army officer assigned to peace keeping duties following the ceasefire (or "ceasefire") of 1973. Here's one of the covers, currently for sale on eBay:

Aztec is offering this cover for US $35 (CAN $45.65) They are normally priced here in Canada at CAN $5 - $15.

Bob:

Dick Malott served in the RCAF/CAF. He is a member of my stamp club (RA Stamp Club - Ottawa). He is in his nineties, and not doing all that well.

He flew all over the world with the RCAF. Where ever he went, he posted a bunch of covers back to himself. He is responsible for the availability of a lot of difficult covers and postmarks for post-WWII Canadian Military.

re: Canada postal wrapper Is this real?

I was curious about this cover . I conversed with the seller with many emails. He said it had a bluish green tinge colored stamp and had been listed for 8 months without selling. I told him that it was way over priced and may have light damage to the stamp. I was able to obtain it for under 20$... The curiosity got the better of me .
Stay tuned for an update when it arrives in my mailbox. Thanks for all the info....

Well, that ruins it for me.

Those covers are all p-h-i-l-a-t-e-l-i-c, ... a word best pronounced with a upturned nose and a downturned demeanor.

Q/ Which smiley is the one that best signals satire?

And, seriously:

Q/ Where would the hobby be if no hobbyist ever did the hobby a favor?

Good on you, Dick.
