Hi Horamakhet
You can have a typhoon variety paired with a normal stamp. The typhoon variety is state 4 of the retouch. What you should see are heavy recut lines running diagonally at the front of the tiger cat.
What you have is either the 1st Master Plate or the 2nd Master Plate. The typhoon recut is from the 2nd Master Plate.
Unfortunately, neither stamp is the typhoon recut.

Hi Rob
Thanks for the information
I think that you posted the typhoon on this forum, but I can't seem to find it. could you re post it?

Horamakhet
I gave it to Chris to certify, the certificate can be used to certify that the stamp is indeed a "typhoon" recut. I will be getting it back soon (hopefully).

Hi Rob
Thanks for that, can't wait to see it again

Hi to all
Are any of these varieties the TYPHOON, I have over two hundred used tiger cat stamps that I need to check, but these one stuck out.

Hi Horamakhet
Sorry, it's no again, none of the stamps have the typhoon retouch. The top left stamp shown in the block of 6 is the typhoon retouch, notice the heavier lines on the top right frame and right side frame to the animal (which is actually a spotted-tailed quoll).
The shading of the animal, tree and background has also been affected by the retouch.

Hi Rob
Thanks for that, now I know what to look for.

Hi to all
Is this a typhoon with a normal tiger cat.
On the stamp on the left hand side, top right corner of the stamp coming from the branch is a very prominent fuzzy brown coloured line.
Also if it is, is it unusual to have a typhoon stamp and a normal stamp as a pair.
Also the shading on the left hand stamp, behind the tiger cat is different from the right hand stamp.
My only regret is that it is used. But I have dozens of pairs, and so far this is the only one that has a fuzzy branch and a normal branch.
