The current SG China edition is the 12th (dated 2018) so I would expect some changes from yours.
I use an old 7th edition and while it doesn't appear to have any changed numbers compared with the 6th edition, its introduction does provide a list of quite a few numbers that have been deleted since the 6th edition.
SG may change their catalogue numbers when an issue or period is rewritten based on new research.
Frequently, this just means adding a few numbers with suffices or creating a gap in the numbering but very occasionally they will rewrite and renumber a major chunk of a country's listing.
If I remember correctly they did this to Imperial Russia back in the 1970s.
They don't often do major renumbering but small tweaks are frequent, especially when new varieties are identified between additions.
Hi Yes it appears the early section of China coiling dragons and the junk series have been changed, do you know if a CD is available with the current edition, I do have the Chan catalogue vol 1 and 2 on CD.
" .... the junk series have been changed, ...."
The the junk series have been changed ?
Oh no. It took me months to sort my way through the pre-'49 stamps.
I am not sure I'll ever get back to them again.
For all you China collectors question I have been using a 6th edition catalogue and to my horror its seems SG has changed some of the listing numbers in the latest edition is this correct.
