Don
Thank you Don.I have problems with english language and the 1 criteria aid me to identify them...type IV.
The terms:"often.relativy, not always" creates problems for beginners,a few examples:
Criteria 2 : taller or wider? I don't understand
Criteria 4: jagged line ??
Criteria 6:line of shading...OFTEN well-defined
Hi! Things to look for on Type 4, 279b. The dots on the ear are always well defined. The horizontal lines to the left of the right numeral 2 seem to run together at their left side. The first "t" of Two Cents has been straightened somewhat from #267, which has fainter dots on the ear. All of your pictures are of #279b. ccndd Chris
Did you ever figure this out? Your stamp on the left looks reddish carmine and on the right you might have bright carmine rose. There is some red in that stamp on the right. That is 279Bf on the left and possibly 279Bc if not 279Bf on the right.
Hi imodium
I only have Michel Colour Guide and I find it difficult to translate colour names from English to German.
The stamp on the left I think is red.
For the stamp on the right I could not find an equivalent colour name in German
I have 2 stamps same design (not sure), perforation 12,watermark USPS double line, rose carmine/rose carmine pale.I made the photos in sun light and house light.
I think they are type III or IV ,but I don't have a type II for design comparaison.
What is the Scott no? Thank you.
