I have been a Doctor Who fan since I was a kid. I noticed today that there are a few Dr. Who stamps on the SoR auction. I don't usually have an interest in thematics, but these interest me. I tried looking at Mr. Google but can't seem to find a list of "all Dr. Who stamps". I'd like to have an idea before I start. I know GB put out several but there are countries out there who issue totally for collectors and I'm curious whether they put out many different ones before I get started. Is there a philatelic site that covers all the different thematic areas that people might be interested in? I know there must be several people who collect stuff related to The Doctor!

The American Topical Association (http://www.americantopicalassn.org/home.shtml) has worldwide topical checklists for its members. On the right hand side of the homepage under topical listings, you can access a PDF providing counts of stamps that can be found in checklists in different "culture" categories. The entertainment section indicates that there is a Doctor Who checklist with 37 entries. I don't know how reliable that count is, but it's a start.

I'm not a cheap person, it only costs $25 to join the topical society for a year. I only want to find a list of the Dr. Who stamps and it is probably the only topical area I am interested in. So rather than join a society I am not very interested in I'll probably just try to see how many are out there and just go from there. I just thought it might be fun to collect one topical and at least now I know there are at least 37 stamps to look for. Probably most are British.
