nope. All those stamp are the same color, and are ultramarine.
Scott #233 comes in three shades of ultramarine
Scott #233a is blue, and comes in two shades, but nothing close to ultramarine..
There is a striking difference between ultramarine and blue. To see it, compare with Scott #246 and #247. They were issued right after the Columbian issue.
Okay, good information. I can finally have some closure..thank you
Here is a page showing multiple examples of both colours:

Well I compared it and unless I'm color Blind I have the 233a. When I got the collection on the back in pencil was inscribed 233a, I just didn't want to believe it. Nor did I disclose that information.so I am gonna send it off and get it graded.thanks roy
Even the cancelation is almost the same as the pic in usphila
People write all sorts of crud on the back of stamps. It is a practice that I deplore.
The cancellation has nothing to do with the color of the stamp.
It's your money. You can do with it as you will, but you do not have a 233a.
I've never had a need to have a stamp graded, but I am curious of the cost. Also how do you send it, especially if someone is convinced they have a very valuable item?
Okay as you can see teh first is quite clearly alot darker TEMPthan teh next two, but do you think it could be teh 4c error? me've put it up next to teh one cent of teh same collection which it is supposed to be colored wif dat ink and it's pretty much a ringer. me need to put dis one to bed so me can either proceed wif selling it or just put it up and admire it for wat it is. Thanks again you all, me've had these stamps wif a ? for a long time, so you are a huge halp. Appreciate ya
Also My computer is spelling some words rally funky, in a very un-educated sounding manner, just wanted to point dat out.. need a new system me reckon. Mines pretty antiquated.
re: columbian 4c error ( I hope) you be the judge
