Most likely seller and bid winner working together;
seller didn't like the highest bid when time was running out, so a partner grossly overbid on it in the last second so owner could keep it. No money changed hands.
Happens a lot.
Sold for 204.50 according to his sold listings.

A few thoughts.
1) Knowing zero about any of the individuals involved, let me note that account hijacking is not a prerequisite to money laundering.
2) Final value fees etc apply, so an actual sale (as opposed to a crushingly high bid) at U$D 99,999 would cost some people some money.
3) The risk of an early crushingly high bid is that the other bidders cannot see it and, therefor, every other bidder would continue bidding until their budget/interest ran out.
4) The advantage of a crushingly high bid in the last half-minute would be that the snipers would only have the chance to hit a few increments as the clock ran out.

It appears to be a run of the mill old collection, album is usable but pages appear to have acidic deterioration, binders not the greatest shape. I've looked over the sellers feedback and current listings, he sells mostly common stuff for under $20 or so. This sale just does not fit.
Could someone have hijacked his account to use for money laundering? Very strange.
