IIt would probably be better if you scanned them.
You say that you cannot cut'n'paste. Fair enough.
One reason would be that you have an electronic image (scan) (picture) of the article on a website somewhere. If they have not protected that image, you can 1) right-click, 2) save it, and 3) upload that file to a post here on SOR by selecting {Upload Image} when composing your post ... just add some colorful commentary so you can claim Fair Use.
Another reason would be that you have an electronic image (scan) (picture) of the article on your hard drive, in which case it has a file name, in which case you can upload that image to a post here on SOR by selecting {Upload Image} when composing your post ... again, add some colorful commentary so you can claim Fair Use.
If that file cannot be uploaded to a post here on SOR - or looks like dirt once it does - we'll need to talk about running the image thru an image optimizer.
Keep in mind that, if the articles are images on a website, you can also just put the link to that article/image in your post.

If you scan properly (300dpi) then use OCR software you will get it converted to text (likely imperfectly) that you can paste.
The images I have are on my hard drive. I have permission from the archives, the newspaper and the local museum to use all articles. I'm writing a book on the history of baseball in my area and would never use any article, information or image without the permission of everyone involved. Tomorrow I'll fool around with the procedure and see if I can download the articles. If they end up unreadable I will just cancel the message. After what happened here on SOR a while ago there is no way I would mess with copy rite!
I tried to load files ( I have the rights, by the way - I don't want to get yelled at! ) and your system didn't like the fact that they were .pdf and basically told me to get lost. I'm sure there is a way to convert them, but I'll fool with them later. If any one out there is particularly interested in the history of stamp collecting send me a personal e-mail and I will send to you as an attachment. One of them talks with disdain about people who would spend good money on little pieces of paper. Actually, this sounds like a couple of my friends. I go to coffee with some other ex-teachers on Friday mornings and made the mistake of mentioning once what I spend on stamps! I'm sure you've all experienced the reaction I got. Now-a-days with everyone "down sizing" it's almost rare to find a senior who will admit to buying anything!!!

Thanks IkeyPikey I'll send them to you later today. I always go out for breakfast and a bit of shopping!
Sorry IkeyPikey, didn't notice the link - don't worry, I won't send you the articles, I will try the link!!!!

I would definitely be interested in seeing the articles once you have a way to make them available.
Me too !!
I have a few old articles from the early days of stamp collecting that are very interesting. I discovered the material when I was doing research for a book I'm writing. I have tried using cut and paste to put them into this message, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to do this or do I need to photograph the articles and then import that image?
