Thanks to the founding fathers of this formidable, unique, outstanding and fantastic Approval Book system.
You should all be very proud of your achievement.
We the members of Stamporama applaud and salute you!!!
Of course the same salutations go to Roy for allowing us to have this Club!!!
I think the approval book concept here is unique and ingenious! I just wish more folks would buy here!
And the winnwer is: david13617!

Do we know how approximately how many stamps have been sold through SOR?
Each item sold on Stamporama, either in the auctions or in the approvals, gets a unique number and at this moment we are somewhere in the 2,7 million region.
I am sure somehow more accurate statistics could be obtained, but this will give an idea of the amount of stamps sold.
Just looking at the people who replied in this thread (Ian, Ralph and myself): our combined number of sold items is > 100,000.
best wishes,
Jan-Simon
Thanks. I have mentioned to some buyers on other forums about SOR and thought mentioning some stats would be helpful.
For a small, non-commercial, site with a small user base, we would surprise many with our overall activity. Even the Discussion Boards get rapid responses. Can't say that about many other, and larger, sites.

Here are a few pages that show reports for the past 12 months. For some reason it only has data for the auctions, no approval statistics.
I was wondering about this as well. I am sure the data is accessible somewhere, but it may require a lot of work to retrieve it, and I am sure Tim has other priorities. So, I ran a quick and very rough estimate, based on some impressions on averages.
~15,000 books
average stamp per book (150-200) (the books have gotten smaller) so let us use ~150 stamps to be conservative
150x15000= 2.25 Million
Average stamp sales in percent (40-55%) here again the percentage has been dropping slowly so let us use 45%
2.25x 0.45= 1.0125 million, so let us say 1 million.
On the high end of my estimate range the number is closer to 1.5 million
So my guess is that we have definitely surpassed the 1 million stamps sold on SOR's Approval Books!

I think the approval books are fantastic! I don't really collect Nyassa, but I do seem to have most of them. I went into the approval books last night and found 4 I really wanted for very reasonable prices. I've picked up a large number of Canal Zone I wanted, and those I do collect as part of my US BOB. Great service, great prices - keep it going!
Seems like just yesterday we announced the 10,000 Approval Book. (On September 27, 2017)
Who will be the one posting #15,000 (any time soon)
As a note..that is 5,000 additional books activated in less than 2 years!
