It has been a few years, and I decided that it is time to update my Scott Catalogs to the 2020 edition. I placed my reserve order with my supplier. They told me that the shipping costs will be much lower as they can now ship the catalogs via media mail.

This is a large and long-established philatelic supply company. I find this information to be very interesting.

re: Catalogs and Shipping

USPS Media mail requirements have not change since 2008, so what changed?

The way I read it, the catalogs contain advertising and therefore are not eligible for USPS media mail.

That is my understanding too. Something seems to have changed. I don't know what that is. I intended to ask at the post office today, but I have too much on my mind of late, and my short term memory is short circuited.

I would suspect a steady mailer of media rate materials would get more scrutiny from te USPS.
