That shouldn't fool anyone. The cleaned fiscal cancellation is pretty obvious. However the heads up is useful. The next one might have the cleaning done better!

That was exactly my intent. Sadly, this stamp, listed as Hong Kong Scott #60, is still for sale today on eBay for $55.86 US with no mention of the fake cancel. I would not pay more than $2 for it as an example of a fake. I hope no one falls for it, and it never sells.

I saw this stamp for sale on eBay today. Buyer beware! The postmark is a fake. No such circular date-stamp ever existed with "HONG-KONG" at the top and "POSTAGE" or "POST-AGE" at the bottom. This fake postmark was used to change a fiscally used revenue stamp to a postally used revenue stamp in order to increase its value. Hope this helps to educate those that do not know.
