Is there any reason that these stamps have a catalog value of over $ 2,000.00

They don't catalogue $2,000. The set of four in VF, unused, hinged condition catalogues $23.00 in Scott 2018.

Imperf singles (a #'s) catalog $2,000. Genuine used catalogues $700 but Scott notes that "forged cancellations exist". For "exist" read "abound". Scott further notes that "Practically the entire issue was delivered to speculators".

I guess Scots blew it..they are listed at $ 575.00 each in the 2016.
