"This picture book shares the tale of Arfy, a homeless mutt who lives in a box in an alley. Arfy writes to every person on Butternut Street about what a great pet he’d make. His letters to prospective owners share that he’s house broken! He has his own squeaky bone! He can learn to live with cats! But, no one wants him. Won’t anyone open their heart–and home–to a lonesome dog? Readers will be happily surprised to learn just who steps up to adopt Arfy."

SPOILER ALERT: Little Arfy is eventually adopted by the letter carrier.

Quote:

"Troy Cummings’s hilarious and touching story is a perfect gift for a child wanting a dog, and for pet adoption advocates. It also showcases many different styles of letter writing, making it appealing to parents and teachers looking to teach the lost art of written communication."

That looks delightful, thanks.
I have just ordered a copy for my granddaughter, she is sure to love it.

I would immediately adopt any dog who could write letters!
He would be useful in mailing away for postmarks.

.
So, Tom, why don't you write that story?

Dog is supposed to only be writing to postmasters for courtesy cancels but he always adds a note that his master (played by Tom Hanks) needs a new wife and all is naught until an acting postmaster (played by Meg Ryan) ...

Hmmm... intriguing that I could be played by Tom Hanks as I've always liked and identified with him. Then again a friend of mine said I reminded him of Richard Dreyfuss.

I was happy with my current wife until you suggested Meg Ryan. Now I'd be interested in that upgrade... and depends on how well she can postmark a cover.
