The following stamp was in the collection that I purchased.

Now I have no idea if a proof existed that was coloured.

This stamp is used. The notation next to it is Proof.

Has this stamp just been tampered with, but it is well done anyway.

The first image is 600dpi, the second is 300dpi

Any and all opinions appreciated.

That's been tampered with, and is definitely not a proof.

Cute idea. There are so many stamp designs that could use a little help Winking

I'm going with Innocent Correspondent, myself.

Cheers,

There is only one proof and that is in the Royal collection, and many modern replica proofs (posthumous proofs) issued by the post office.

Hi Rob

So it may be possible that the one I have is a re-issued posthumous post office proof?

Anyway it is a nice talking piece.
