I would appreciate some guidance on accomplishing the following page design using Album Easy 3.9.
I have not been able to figure out how to eliminate all spacing between horizontal boxes or vertical rows in particular. My goal is to duplicate the design used by the old Modern Postage Stamp Album from Scott so that I can generate a similar personal album on better paper than the original albums. Plus it seemed like an interesting challenge.
JB, what are the stamp dimensions (mm) and what size paper are you wanting to use?
Will you want the boxes touching (as in your image) or separated and the same for rows?
Do you want them to take up the whole page or just two lines?
Oops just read the last lines below the image, but what size paper will you be using.
Depending on your paper size you could try this, maybe copy and paste into your text editor then adjust spacing/sizes.

Mind you, Clive probably has an easier way of doing this!
Thank you, thank you! That was perfect.
Here is what that looks like.
That was what I got when I did a cut and paste from your sample to a test document. Thanks again!
That looks great sheepshanks,
I don't actually have an easier solution, but can offer an alternative way of adjusting the inter-row spacing if one doesn't want to set the ALBUM_PAGES_SPACING to (0.0 0.0) for the whole album.
The PAGE_TEXT command can accept an optional vspace parameter that controls the amount of vertical space placed after after the text. This can be negative so for example
PAGE_TEXT (HN 1 "" -9.2)
will cause the next item to be drawn 9.2mm ABOVE the bottom of the blank row of text and can be used as follows:
ALBUM_PAGES_SPACING (6.0 6.0)
ROW_START_FS (HN 6 0.1 0.0)
STAMP_ADD (25.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (25.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (25.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (25.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (25.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (25.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (25.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
PAGE_TEXT (HN 1 "" -9.2)
ROW_START_FS (HN 6 0.1 0.0)
STAMP_ADD (43.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (43.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (43.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
STAMP_ADD (43.0 32.0 " " "" " " " " "" " ")
NOTE: Prior to AlbumEasy V3.9.1 PAGE_TEXT did not take an optional vspace parameter, instead the same functionality was provided by a separate PAGE_TEXT_VSPACE command.

Thank you Clive, guess I had better update my version.
Many thanks for the example.
No need to update your version sheepshanks, It works perfectly well.
I just offered an alternative, but not necessarily a better way, of getting to the same place.
Clive
Just started using this program. Its very handy and easy to use. Thanks for all your hard work on it.
I am Glad to hear that you find AlbumEasy useful, nlroberts1961.
Please shout if you have any questions, I am always happy to help.
Regards,
Clive
I must apologise for a new release so soon after the last, but I suspect that some users may find the added commands, and the new column mode in particular, useful now rather than having to wait months for a release.
In effect the column mode divides the page into two independent vertical columns which should provide added flexibility and hopefully allow for page layouts that were previously difficult or impossible to create. The Columns.txt example album file included with this release serves to illustrate the usage of this column mode.
Other than the new commands listed below this release contains no other bug fixes or enhancements. So for those users who already have V3.8 installed, unless they have a need for these new features, there is little reason to upgrade.
* PAGE_COLUMN_START, PAGE_COLUMN_NEXT and PAGE_COLUMN_STOP commands to split a page into vertical columns for added flexibility when laying out pages.
* STAMP_ADD_OVAL command for creating oval and circular stamp frames.
* ALBUM_TITLE and ALBUM_AUTHOR commands to set the title and author attributes of the PDF document. These attributes, visible only in the PDF file properties, have no effect on the printed output.
As always, AlbumEasy is completely free and open source. Versions for Windows and Linux as well as the source code may be downloaded from the link below.
