Hi,
This is a 25s revenue stamp from Thailand.
Yes to the Thai revenue. From a quick glance at a listing of the Thai general revenues I have it's probably from the 1950s to 1970s period. 25 satang is the smallest coin in Thailand now, but we still have goods in supermarkets priced with a .25 at the end. It's worth about three-quarters of a US cent.
There were two sets with this design:
A 1952 set with nine values was engraved by Waterlow and had a 25s charcoal-grey value.
A 1962 set with seven values was printed by De La Rue and had a 25s black value.
I have scanned through several online catalogs for possible countries, trying to find this stamp/language but no luck. The stamp is a blue-green gray color but looks dull gray in the photo. Any help is appreciated.
re: Can someone identify this stamp, or at least the country/language, please?
