I always thought that when you received an offer on ebay...it would be lower than my asking price,i received 3 "new offers" in the last 10 days and they were all at least twice my asking price. Just wondering if others have had similar experiences...i never used to even get the opening bid on most items...now they are going over the top if they want it.

That's not the way it works! Make sure the offers came through the eBay system. Check to make sure they are in "My eBay" communication center.

re: New offers on ebay

YUP.

Most of the offers I get are about two thirds or a half of my auction start price, but the other day I had an offer of twice my auction start price, which of course I accepted!!
All these offers came through the ebay systems.
To stop these small offers I now put in the automatic refusal minimum offer price one pence less than the auction start price. (It saves my time answering these pathetically low offers.)
I also refuse ebays automatic price reduction on each relist.
