I know the Scott Specialized Catalogue list micro printing to help identify similar stamps but I don't know if they list all micro printed stamps.
There is micro printing on the booklet. Look at the bottom center blue star ( above the V in forever) and count up 4 blue stars. The micro printing is on the right of the 4th blue star.

Thanks Keith for the quick reply. But....
I cannot see any secret mark on the 4th blue star. Or anywhere else. Scott lists 2 numbers for this stamp. One is a coil which has a fairly obvious micro USPS on a blue star. I have the 10 stamp booklet on which I cannot find anything that looks like micro printing.
A friend bought a quantity of these at a steep discount on ebay. He wanted me to check them to make sure that they weren't the Chinese version. The stamps appear to have mottled tagging. Booklet looks ok - plate P1111. Since I do not have a USPS bought booklet (I collect used US) I can't be sure. The missing micro printing sends a red flag but.....
Thanks again for the help. Will check them again with a 20x magnifier.

If it doesn't have the micro printing they're fakes.
Keith
If it is a fake, consider notifying Linn's. The Scott Specialized catalog also lists them in their own section.
I have a question. Is there any microprinting on this stamp? The coil version has the USPS micro in blue but I can't find anything on the booklet version. Is there a resource that lists those issues with microprinting? Thanks,
Tad
