have just purchased a huge US Precancel (Bureau & Town & Type) collection with about 10,000 different precancels. Collection came with the PSS Bureau & Town & Type catalog.
So far, am a bit confused as to what a Bureau precancel & town & type stamps is & how to differentiate.
I cannot find the MORRILL KANS. stamps listed in either catalog. What am I missing. I find these precancels intriguing and am contemplating giving up my other collecting habits for these. Possibilities seem endless and cost is very reasonable & will keep me busy for years.
How does one find these in the PSS catalogs or are they not there?
There are plenty of others in this collection like this that are not listed so I think I may be not using it correctly. Any help is appreciated

BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for the much less common "Dated Precancels":
... An article on Dated Precancels
... Spreadsheet of Dated Precancel Company Acronyms/Names
... PSS Printed Dated Type Precancel Album Pages
And, be aware that:
- As with other overprints & cancellations, forgeries abound.
- US postal stationery was also precanceled.
- US parcel post stamps were also precanceled.

I have been all over the PSS site & have seen the dated precancels etc.
There are a few of those & many playng ard stamps as well.
My real question here is this: Does the PSS have a cat # for the stamps in my picture.
They seem to suggest that all Bureaus & town & types are numbered, but what should be a common stamp like the MORRILL KANS. ones are not listed.
Any pre-cancel experts out there?
Any recommended dealers to contact for info?
