Wow Bob,
That is just so great to hear.
And what better "mark" to leave in the world than a positive experience on a younger person!
Very nice!

That was a great day for the hobby!
Thanks for sharing this, Bob. Kudos to those dealers.

At the spur of the moment, and because the weather was quite rainy, I decided to go to a stamp show in New Jersey. After about an hour of browsing, I was sitting at one of my friends table, and a middle aged man with his two grandsons came over to the table. The two boys were Boy Scouts going for their merit badges in stamp collecting. My friend Ed, closed his table and sat with the two boys explaining the importance of purchasing well centered stamps. He also showed them how to use a perf gauge.
After about 45 min. two other dealers came over, and they were showing them now to soak stamps, and told them not to soak the current self adhesive stamps
Another dealer came over and explained the terms used such as " ON Piece " On Cover " and explained what " Space Fillers " are .
These guys were more interested in teaching these two boys rather than making sales.
Hey who said you cant teach an old dog new tricks. I learned a thing or two .
