Here is a nice grouping of Spiro forgeries of the Danish West Indies bicolor issue of 1873:

Condition is not great, but they make nice reference material. These are easy to identify by the distinctive cancellation - only seen on Spiro forgeries. When the engraving quality is compared to genuine stamps, it is easy to see that they're fakes.

I pointed out to the eBay seller that they were forgeries, and he promptly offered them to me for 1/6 the original starting bid. I promptly accepted.

(I never noticed it before now, but that Spiro cancellation somewhat resembles the foreign cancellations used on GB stamps.)
