Hi Michael,
I have heard of it, but have not visited it. Your link is not correct, their website is: Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History.
Cheers,
Antonio
If anyone is coming to the Philatelic Show in Boxboro, MA May 4-6 the Spellman is not far away.
Dennis
I've been looking forward to visiting the Spellman for years.
When circumstances permit ...
A fabulous resource! The Spellman schedules an impressive, calendar of events, will add you to their email list to receive their informative monthly calendar featuring a different stamp connected with each day, as well as their entertaining monthly philately video, and a newsletter. They have their own store, post office, and a decent library.
EVERY philatelist should at least "visit" virtually! It's a gem! (Even the AAA tour books will tell you that!)
Before I retired from fulltime teaching, Henry Lukas, Educational Director of the Spellman (and a former educator and school principal himself) visited my classroom several times for philatelity programs. The museum was one of the earliest supporters of the Holocaust Stamps Project, too.

Judging by the absence of posts about this museum (as far as I can tell), perhaps very few members have visited it. In fact, I would bet that many of you have never heard of it. The fellow at the admissions desk said it was the best kept secret in philately, and one of only two such museums in the United States. I toured it last weekend. Wonderful displays! A fantastic US collection, a show of Zeppelin covers, a reconstructed full sheet of Britain #1, amazing Civil War patriotic covers, and best of all, a 15,000-volume reference library! It's located on the campus of Regis College in Waltham, Massachusetts. Worth a special trip if you're anywhere in the area--or maybe even if you're not. Check it out at www.spellman.org.
