This printing error is referred to as a mis-registration (I think). This is a more dramatic example. It will not be listed in any catalog. There are people who collect these but I am not one of them and so cannot answer the question about value.
Smauggie is right. This is a mis-registration error. Very common, but this example is uncommonly extreme and likely to command a nice premium from someone who collects such things. Very nice!
My guess would be $5 or $1O if you found the right buyer.

Thank you Lars.
My get-rich-quick scheme is coming together nicely.
This is a very common mis-registration. It is known as "the fast bee". There is also a "slow bee" and they are known all over the place. Specialists do collect these even though they are not usually listed in any catalog

For future reference, here is a used 2281b cover from my collection
How excellent to find that on cover.
Nice!
Collecting modern stamps often gets a bad rap but this is the type of stuff that could make it fun and interesting.. thanks for sharing these great examples.
Dave,

Hello,
I came across a Scott# 2281 error in my Uncle's collection. I have searched online and can't find a catalog # for this error. My Uncle's database simply does not mention this stamp.
The black lines of the bee should align with the yellow body. In this error, a ghostly exoskeleton of the bee appears to be flying off the stamp! Boo!
There is an error 2281b, where the black lines of the bee are not present. It sells for around $50 on ebay. Obviously, this is not that error.
Does anyone know if this error has a catalog number?
Possible value?
