in an envelope marked elobey, annobon and corisco, but not seeing it in scott
must have been an old envelope
the scan is 1200dpi so a better one probably will not help

Hi Russ,

It's an early Romanian stamp from 1862/64.

I don't think this one is genuine, though it's a nice looking stamp.

According to a guide I have, the eagle and bull's head should touch (and that's the case with the image in the SG catalogue).

Romania Scott 11 (orange, laid paper) or 15 (orange-yellow, wove paper) - hand pressed individually, or possibly 19 (yellow, wove paper) typographed.

It may be listed under Moldavia-Walachia
