Hi,
It's a semi postal Scott B83.
Jacques (jlav)
the surtax was to fund a home for PTT retirees in Belgrade
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP ! IT'S A PLEASURE TO PARTICIPE TO STAMPORAMA !
Yugoslavia, 1939 year issue, Michel catalog # 370-374, set of 5 values.
Nice catalog value for full set of 5, in mnh condition = 17.00 euro.
Funny as I have looked at this stamp a number of times, (I may even have it), and passed it by for my Douglas DC-3 collection. The cabin/fuselage seemed to be too narrow. Looking again today and seeing the two lights in the nose I had a thought it could be a DC-2 badly drawn. Trying to track down a DC-2 in use in Yugoslavia in 1939 produced a blank, but the national airline Aeroput did have Lockheed Model 10 Electras in its fleet. Finding some pictures of the Lockheed and what do I find? Twin lights in the nose of course.
Agree. Lockheed Model 10 Electra. (Albeit stylized.)
Believe some woman attempted to circumnavigate the globe in a L10 Electra.
Hello ! I need help with this stamp from Yugoslavia !
Airmail or other ? Year ... Scott number ...
Many thanks
Bénédicte
