According to Gibbons, the two stamps on the right have a catalog value equal to the used value of the regular stamps. Your 1 shilling surcharged stamp, according to Gibbons, has a value equal to 20% (take 80% off the catalog value) of the used value of a regular stamp.

Hi BigDaddy;
I'm curious, as I'm sure many others would be also, what was the reason that they were stamped canceled?
Still just sortin'....

In the 1880’s Mauritius changed its currency and wanted to invalidate all unsold stamps. They then sold the 'cancelled' stamps as remainders.

I have 3 unused early stamps from Mauritius that have 'cancelled' printed on the front of them. On line I found the reason that these stamps were cancelled but there is a bit of a debate as to what their value might be. Scott doesn't list one... I would appreciate any feedback and information in this regard. Photo below. Thanks, Big DaddyDave
