John was probably the finest person i ever met in the stamp hobby. He was a retired engineer with a million covers...but he let the room full of covers sell themselves as he always had lots of time to chat when he saw my wife and i. I never saw John without a smile on his face..he loved what he was doing so much.

Truly a great person and a great loss when he passed. I got together with him at his house two or three times a year to buy and sell, usually with a couple of other dealers and it was always a pleasant way to get rid of old stock and get new stock. I miss those days a lot..

I remember he sold his stock one time for whatever reason...and the next thing i knew he had the cargo van packed full again !!!!!!! I asked him about packing and unpacking the van and he said he just left them in the van.
