I sell stamps or covers on ebay and charge one dollar shipping in the United States or 1.50 worldwide. It seems now that ebay wants us to use the suggested 3 dollar package fee ..which obviously would not work for me. It looks like they have dropped the option of U.S.P.S first class mail. I called ebay and the woman i spoke with agreed that they apparently changed the shipping. Its a bit of a pain but i change the 3 dollars to one dollar and hope the buyer understands its going to be a first class envelope.

re: ebay shipping fees

I just had an interesting experience with Ebay. I sold a $5.50 Cover to a Buyer in Italy with FREE Shipping. Ebay Invoiced the Buyer for $16.86 Shipping & Handling through their Global Shipping Program. I had never put a check mark in that little box where you agree to use the Global Shipping Program. The Buyer and I had a very friendly "around and around" for well over a week. Suddenly the $5.50 appeared in my PayPal account. I'm not sure how the Buyer accomplished this - since Ebay blocked all my attempts to provide the Buyer with my Email address, mailing address, etc. The funny(?) thing is that Ebay never will be paid. The purchase still shows as awaiting Payment.
