Hi Everyone,
We have got to the point where the number of image files held on the Stamporama server is becoming an issue. We currently have 74GB of images uploaded on the server. Roy informs me that the nightly backup of the files on the server is now taking 12 hours to complete.
To address this issue we will be making a couple of changes.
1. Images from closed Auctions will only be kept on the server for 6 months.
2. Images from Approval books will only be kept on the server for 6 months from the day that the Approval moves from active to inactive status. In other words, from when a book is closed the images will be held for 6 months.
There are a few other areas that I am working on that will improve the image disk space situation, but the 2 points above will have the biggest effect. I will have a program that runs nightly doing cleanup work to keep control of the image file growth.
I will also put this note out in an email to all active members. I just want to make sure that all members are aware of the situation and what I'm doing about it.
Regards ... Tim.
