that sounds like it would be fun to road trip just to get in on the action !
Sounds impressive. Last Sunday I visited a stamp friend who lives not far away from here, and he had two book cases of 2 metres wide, floor to ceiling, filled with black page Lighthouse stockbooks for his collection. Seeing that was a jaw dropping moment.
Hey Phil. Not 100% sure what a 102 vs 104 card are and might not be the only one. Could you post a scan of each and explanation why you prefer one of them?
Maybe with a scan of a "red box" too? I at least know what that is (just bot one with a bunch of Germany in little envelopes and display cards). Fantastic storage and organizing thing for anyone who could get one. I figure that alone has to be worth up to $2-3 and if you can get a pile of 102/104 cards for 1-2c each it would be really nice.
Thx Dave
102 / 104 / 107 , they are all just different sizes of the same type of card.

a 102 card
Very good bob, i was attempting to show a 102 and a 104 card side by side for comparison but my scanner is arguing with me today.

Apart from the wording they look the same to me, other than the backing (is it always black for 102 and white for 104)?
But I see from sheepshanks description the 104s are also a bit bigger.
I think I have some of each (I'll have to check when I get home tonight). Do they both fit in a "Red Box" or is it structured for the 102s (smaller size) only?
Thanks, Dave.
Dave, each size has their own box ..they are about 15 inches long and hold one thousand cards.
Thanks Phil, I'll check it out to see what I have.
I really do like the idea of the cards and box for organizing and storing compared to glassines (obviously subject to how many stamps can comfortably fit in a 102/104 card.
Dave.
A fairly well known stamp dealer from Maine passed away and i heard his son was bringing 500 albums to the monthly show in Troy New York...i had to see this...sure enough the guy had one wall of the room covered..tables and floor. i am really not in the market for worldwide scott international albums unless they are dirt cheap..he sold me a brick of 100 lindner plastic approval cards for 5 bucks and a red box of 1,000 104 cards for 10 bucks...i would have rather had the 102 cards but for 10 bucks instead 40 bucks i took the 104s. The guy and his wife must have had some fun packing up the van for the trip back to Maine. I am pretty sure they will be back..some of the regular dealers were not happy..all the action was with the albums.
