Cheryl can you give us a bit more detail, such as year of posting, maybe an image?
The stamps from Kaulbach island were issued by the Kaulbach Island Proprietors Ltd and authorized by Canada Post as you probably already know.
Seem to recall there was a discussion here about a year ago.
There has been a mystery around the actual owner /creator of the Island Post.
My first clue was yesterday when I was shown in a frame in the main house on Kaulbach Island a cover dated 1972 and on the bottom was a pencil signature (Henry Bowen postmaster)
The people who own the island now bought the house in 1990 and that part of the history of the island is missing on their deed...I can`t post a picture as I don`t have the cover .
Just was hoping some one might recognize the name
It doesn't answer your question, but you might enjoy this article if you haven't seen it.

Yes I have read it...Even the current owners couldn`t add more info...But I`m thinking that the signature is a clue...However it may not be the complete name...When I google the name I get a printer from the states...The stamps did have a US address order form as well as Canadian
Cheryl, have not found anything directly connecting to Bowen(r) but the following may give you further details but I have been unable to get anywhere with the links. Internet seems to have gone really slow and timing out. There appear to be quite a few articles in Collections Canada regarding the Island.

Thankyou Interesting site Although the articles are archived there is a link which I will fill out for a request and a toll free telephone #
